A man who represented himself as a porn producer from Los Angeles arranged to pick up a 15-year-old girl from a Eugene high school en route to a shoot for a movie being filmed in Portland, Eugene Police said.
But the supposed porn producer was a 30-year-old Portland man. And the 15-year-old girl was an undercover Eugene Police officer. That’s the story behind the arrest of Colin Reed Stewart on a charge of Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the First Degree, Eugene Police said. Police arrested Stewart when he arrived at North Eugene High School to pick up the girl after responding to an online ad by text message. He had camera equipment in his car, police said. The undercover detective on the case said he has made about 50 similar arrests since 2014, sometimes by posing online as a teen girl. “I think the important thing is that parents are paying attention to what their kids are doing on their phones,” the detective said on condition of anonymity since his work takes place undercover. “It’s so easy to access these sites now a days. And there are so many social media sites where there are predators looking for kids.”
